Whose that Girl?

My name is “Dee” and I have recently relocated to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I am the author of “A Black Woman’s Midlife” blog. My intent is to provide fun, informative, and reliable, content for African American Women (AAW’s) in midlife looking to stay connected, relevant, and engaged. I launched this blog in 2011 to address the lack of “fun” content for those internet users in midlife. This blog provides it readers with a forum to learn, debate, share, reminisce, and most importantly laugh about midlife and the changes it brings.

I am a “40 something” (holla back Gen-Xers!!) mother of a 7 year old daughter (theGirl), stepmother to two boys, ages 11 (theMiddleChild) and 15 (theTeenager), dog mom to a 2 year old Pomeranian (Bear) and an 11 month old Kane Korso (Bullet). I am employed fulltime, engaged to be married, and studying for the February 2012 Texas State Bar. I am a HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Universities) alum, former NFL Cheerleader, former fitness junkie (whose trying to bring sexy back – – or least willing to die trying!), and lover of all forms of retail therapy. Additionally, I have been a member of the natural hair community since July 2008. My interest/hobbies currently include: fashion, learning how to “swing out” (that is a style of dancing for all you nasty people!!!), reading and working out.
